                            Drivers Report V1.0

                             by John Augustine

DR (Drivers Report) was written in Assembly for MS Dos Systems.

Requires Color Graphics (CGA) or better, and does not need much memory.

DR allows you to view all the drivers whose headers are present in the
chain of device headers used by the OS (Operating System). Each header has
a pointer to the location of the next device header. An FFFFh pointer marks
the last driver in the chain.

DR is so simple to use, no instructions are necessary. Simply type
(without quotes) "DRV-RPT" and press Enter.

Note: The "Help" screen in DR has useful information.

The location of each device header in memory is displayed in hexadecimal
segment:offset order preceding the name of the driver.

The names of drivers usually pertain to character devices. There are two
main categories of devices, "character" and "block". A disk drive is
considered a "block" device. "CON", "LPT1", "COM2", "CLOCK", etc. are
considered "character" devices.

All the information in the header for each device is presented by DA in
the Detail report. DA has two modes of presenting driver information. One
mode displays the names and the location of the headers in a list format
while the other mode presents a full screen of information pertaining to
each driver.

CONCLUSION:

This is NOT a "Free" program. A small Donation will be Greatly
Appreciated. For a minimum donation of $5.00 (U.S.A.), if you REQUEST, I
will send you several other MS Dos based programs that I made on a 3.5"
disk, or attach it (around 300K .ZIP package) to E-Mail if you prefer.
Please include your E-Mail address with your donation to receive these files
via E-Mail.

NOTE: You will NOT be expected to pay for any other program you find
useful. In effect, with just one small donation, you paid for several
programs instead of one. Remember to include a note requesting the other
programs if you want them. The donation will motivate me to develop more
programs (and make improvements).

I have included, "OTH-PGMS.DOC" (Other Programs) which is a list of the
other programs plus descriptions you will receive for your donation.
Additional programs in future will be added.

Comments or complaints are always welcomed. If you use "Snail Mail" and
expect a reply, please include a S.A.S.E.
